CIGPE Technology Challenge Advisor of the Year

Our Graduate Engineer, Cashel Cahill, was invited to be a Technical Advisor at the 20th annual Channel Island Group of Professional Engineers Technology Challenge (CIGPE). Cashel supervised a team of Year 9 students from secondary schools in the Bailiwick. Together they took part in engineering challenges, with Cashel providing technical advice to the students. Cashel’s team won the main challenge of the day, building the most effective Trebuchet and scoring the most points. Therefore we are delighted to announce that Cashel was awarded ‘CIGPE Technology Challenge Advisor of the Year’.

We are pleased to announce Callum Le Flock, our Trainee Detailing Technician, has been short-listed for the Guernsey College of Further Education Apprentice of the Year. One of only 10 in over 300 apprentices! Callum has been invited to the Awards Evening on 11th June. He will have his citation read out and collect his certificate to acknowledge being shortlisted. All attending will then hear the winner and runners up being announced. The Apprentice of the Year Awards were set up in 2001. They acknowledge the dedication of apprentices in any apprenticeship offered by the Scheme. Good luck Callum!

For those of you who may not know, Babbé McCathie would like to confirm how delighted we are that Gary Bougourd has accepted the role of Managing Director. Following Don’s retirement, promotion for Gary was a natural, and some would say an overdue progression. Gary will now lead a young and vibrant team of six in Babbé McCathie Guernsey supported by our sister company of 11 staff in T&G in Jersey.
