We are looking for a Chartered Engineer or an experienced Senior Technician/Engineer looking to move up the career ladder who understands the benefits of building long term client relationships. The right candidate must be a conscientious team leader who enjoys a challenge and has a willingness to succeed.
The ideal applicant will be ambitious and pro-active with the necessary skills to operate and utilise the full resources of a pan-island consultancy. You must be proficient in the use of AutoCad and experienced with design software packages as well as the ability to undertake tasks with little to no supervision.
You must be commercially aware with an ability to communicate on all levels in order to develop client relationships. You must be eager to take the next step in your career, and there is an equity shareholding option for the right person.

Competences & Experience
Promote and maintain a positive working environment.
Promote and maintain clear lines of communication throughout the office. Ensuring that all matters relating to performance or non performance are identified and dealt with or where necessary directed to a Director.
Manage all matters relating to delivery – delegating as necessary to ensure that all programmed works are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibility for supervising members of the Team – identifying where necessary training needs
Responsibility for leading the in house delivery of all projects. An understanding of all projects that are being worked on and by whom as well as all projects that are due to be progressed.
Responsibility for maintaining and operating software and hardware. Identifying when necessary the requirement for upgrading or replacement in line with Budget controls.
Business market awareness.
Developing Client relationship.
Promotion of the T&G Group
Responsibility for presenting a monthly report to the board of Directors. Such reporting to include: Staff issues, Work practices, commercial planning and budget requirements.Client feedback and future potential projects.
Work directly with Clients and design teams (Architects, surveyors, Main Contractors) to identify and agree Clients Requirements.
Prepare fee estimates and fee agreement proposals
Negotiate commercial and non-commercial elements of fee agreements with Clients
Provide Clients with direct professional advice on matters of a structural and civil engineering nature, ensuring such advice is (at all times) in accordance with prior agreements with such Clients and in line with the terms and conditions of Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) held and maintained by the Company
Provide civil and structural engineering design and specification services on (but not limited to) the following installations:
- Temporary works and demolitions
- Surface water drainage
- Retaining walls and basements
- Ground bearing slabs
- Load bearing slabs and structural frames
- Stairs,ramps,lift enclosures
- Intermediate floor construction
- Roof structures
- Curtain walling and cladding
- External works and landscaping.
Attend (and lead as required) design team meetings and workshops to assist with development of engineering designs on developments
Obtain design information and specifications from others (eg architects, works package contractors or external designers) and incorporate into overall design
Schedule and manage obtaining of information in timely manner to enable incorporation into civil and structural designs
Check and approve designs and specifications prepared by others
Provide technical advice to other professionals during design development process.
